IIVS to Hold Respiratory Toxicology Workshop on In Vitro Exposure Systems and Dosimetry Assessment Tools for Inhaled Tobacco Products
IIVS will hold its second workshop for respiratory toxicology exploring in vitro exposure systems and dosimetry assessment tools for inhaled tobacco products. The workshop will be held April 4-6, 2016 at the Bethesda Marriott in Bethesda, MD. The early-bird registration deadline is Feb. 15.
The workshop will highlight the current status of in vitro to in vivo correlations, whole tobacco smoke and E-cigarette aerosol/vapor constituents, in vitro exposure systems, dosimetry approaches, the exposure microenvironment, and promising technologies that may advance science in these areas. Speakers from industry, government, academia, and non-profits will be presenting in addition to moderated breakout sessions to explore in vitro methods in greater detail.
Abstracts are now being accepted for poster presentation at the meeting. The deadline for abstract submission is January 31st. Authors will be notified by February 15th.
The upcoming workshop is part of a series of workshops designed to identify promising in vitro and in silico methods and then standardize those methods to make them ready for regulatory application. The first workshop was held in December 2014 followed by a Technical Workshop held in June 2015.
